Job Description

As a member of the HR team, the Human Resources Generalist provides key support in the various human resources functions which include full cycle recruitment and selection and human resources administration. The HR Generalist reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Full cycle recruitment including: creating job postings, interview and selection

  • Complete onboarding and new hire packages with high attention to detail

  • Provide support to team members in various HR-related topics such as payroll, onboarding, and compensation

  • Creating and maintaining HR metrics and reporting monthly

  • Maintaining and ensuring accuracy in various systems

  • Assist HR Manager in special project work

  • Assist on employee relations items

  • Assist with roll out and implement programs to enhance employee morale, satisfaction, and retention

Education and Experience

  • 2-3 years’ experience in recruitment or Human Resources administration experience is required

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources considered is preferred

  • Post-secondary education in a related field will be considered

  • Experience working in the oil sands is an asset

  • Previous training in diversity, equity and inclusion

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Exceptional organization and planning skills

  • Change management skills/experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong analytic skills

  • Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft applications is required

  • High priority on confidentiality
