Job Description

Cougar Fuels is currently looking for a Supervisor for our Bulk Operation in Fort McMurray. This position reports directly to the Bulk Manager. This position is a 9 ON 5 OFF, 10-hour days out of the Taignaova Office. 7 days on call.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the daily activities of team members; providing coaching and training as required.

  • Conduct toolbox talks with crew, discussing client and organizational provided information. Provide feedback to crew based on workplace observations and current events on site.

  • Observe driver’s pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

  • Conduct and oversee new hire driver evaluations.

  • Assist in the resolution of day-to-day challenges or equipment problems.

  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.

  • Coach and mentor team members.

  • Assist in planning and execution of daily tasks.

  • Monitor job progress and provide regular progress reports to management.

  • Ensure the efficient use of labour, machines and materials used by team members.

  • Ensure all employees meet required levels of certification for areas and or tasks.Coordinate with Safety or schedule required training to ensure compliance.

  • Supervise employees and manage their performance. Set performance standards foreach role and provide ongoing feedback regarding employee’s performance.

  • Oversee truck route planning.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • 1-2 years in a previous leadership role considered an asset

  • 2 years minimum working in the oil sands or with fuel delivery is required.

  • A valid Class 1 and experience with multiple trailer configurations and 18 speed manual transmission is required.

  • Mechanically inclined to help troubleshoot and fix small problems with equipment

  • Forklift and warehouse experience considered an asset.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent Customer Service skills.

  • Knowledge of Cougar Fuels products outside of fuel considered an asset (DEF, LUBES etc.)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.

  • Strong analytical skills are required.

  • Computer skills required: Excel, PowerPoint, Email, Microsoft Word

  • Work is physically strenuous, and workers are required to lift heavy fueling equipment up to 50 pounds.

  • Work may require excessive bending or stooping
